Saint Paul, MN – Trista MatasCastillo today released her pre-primary campaign finance report before the election on August 14th. With over 225 individual donors and a large majority of contributions less than $100, Trista raised almost $30,000 in this disclosure period, more raised by any candidate for the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners in this period by any candidate since at least 2012. To date, Trista has raised over $38,000.

“I’m proud to have the support of hundreds of grassroots donors who are hungry to see change and progress in our district,” said MatasCastillo. “Their generosity has been astonishing. From the start of this campaign, I have been determined to run a positive, progressive campaign powered by the people of our district. This report shows that we have grassroots support we need to carry us forward and positions us well for victory in November.”

“I was impressed by her values, her inclusive approach, and her sensible, forward-thinking vision,” said Beth Bowman, a North End resident. “A few months ago during Ramadan, I attended an Iftar and was so impressed that Trista was there, and that she observed their traditions respectfully and showed that she really wants to represent everyone.”

Said Betty Conley, a resident of the Como neighborhood, “Dale Street is my neighborhood street. She listened to my concerns that Dale Street become a safer street for all, including residents and non-motorized users, and I believe that she will make that happen.”

MatasCastillo has earned the endorsement of the DFL party, Saint Paul Federation of Teachers, the DFL Disability Caucus, Stonewall DFL, International Union of Operating Engineers Local 49, International Union of Operating Engineers Local 70, Teamsters Local 120, Teamsters JC 32 DRIVE, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 110, and the North Central States Regional Council of Carpenters.
