Saint Paul, Minn. – The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 110 have announced their official endorsement of Trista MatasCastillo for Ramsey County Board. Matascastillo is running for District 3, which encompasses Falcon Heights and Saint Paul neighborhoods of Payne/Phalen, North End/South Como, Como Park, Frogtown, and Hamline- Midway.

“I’m thrilled to have the support of IBEW,” MatasCastillo said. “Every resident of Ramsey County deserves the chance to earn a living wage, and that means supporting our brothers and sisters in labor as well as setting strong county policy to support working families.” The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 110 is made up of more than 2,500 members. Jamie McNamara, Business Manager for IBEW 110, said endorsing MatasCastillo was an easy choice.

“Trista’s strong commitment to the families of Ramsey County and her longstanding support of labor will make her an outstanding member of the county board,” said McNamara. “We will work hard to make sure Trista wins this November and we look forward to working with her as a Ramsey County Commissioner.

Trista is a veteran who served 16 years in the United States Navy, the United States Marine Corps, and Minnesota National Guard. She currently works as a principal aide for the District 1 Ramsey County Commissioner and as the Development Director for Journey Home Minnesota, a statewide nonprofit serving families and victims of domestic violence and military veterans and their families.
