SAINT PAUL, MN – Trista MatasCastillo will hold a “Progressive Kick-off” on Tuesday, October 10th, for her campaign for Ramsey County Commissioner – District 3.

“Our district needs a representative that can work cooperatively with neighborhoods, businesses, and with other Ramsey County Commissioners,” said Rich Holst, North End neighbor. “Trista has a track record that proves she has the leadership to build a consensus, to attract investment, and to take our county in the right direction.”

Said MatasCastillo of her candidacy, “I have dedicated my career to public service by advocating for community investment and human rights. As County Commissioner, I will fight to improve county health and social services, funding for infrastructure and affordable housing, and support transit improvements across the region.”

Trista is a 16-year military veteran, having served in the Navy, Marine Corps, and Minnesota National Guard. She and her husband, an immigrant and fellow veteran, reside with their five children in the Payne-Phalen neighborhood. As the mother of a disabled child, Trista knows firsthand that we must improve services in Ramsey County to meet the needs of its incredibly diverse communities and advance inclusion for all residents.

District 3 Includes Payne/Phalen, North End/ South Como, Como Park, Frogtown, Hamline-Midway and the City of Falcon Heights. (map)
